The other day, I legit chased my toddler around my street with no pants. ZERO pants. He was running all over the street and I didn’t have time to think about whether or not neighbors could see my saggy white rear end peeking out from underneath my shirt. I had a toddler to catch. If you happened to look out of your window and you live on my street… you’re welcome.
I just deleted “Joshua’s nap time” off of my daily calendar. He really gave it up a couple of months ago. I think I just officially gave up. I’ll be crying myself to sleep in a corner. No I won’t. There’s no more sleep in this house.
Yesterday’s convo:
Me: “Joshua, what was the best part of your day?”
Him: “Chips.”
Me: “Oh, you mean the chips you ate with your sandwich at lunch?”
Him: “Yep.”
Me: “But what about when you went with Pops and Q for gelato? That was really neat, right?”
*silence*
Him: “Chips.”

I’m sitting outside at a froyo place. A dad and his teenage son sit behind me. Twice, the son thanks his dad for the yogurt. Twice, the dad says, “You’re welcome, son. You worked hard, you deserve it. I’m proud of you.” They talked and laughed across many subjects with their gadgets stored in their pockets. This, this. This child is on the path to true greatness and that is a heckuva good dad.

Him: “No way, I don’t want to.”
Gosh, I’d wish he’d learn to express himself better and develop stronger opinions.
As Joshua & I watch “Planet Earth,” he points to the screen:
Me: “Oh, those are mushrooms, J.”
Him: “No, it’s fungus.”
