Happy Face
My little 2 year-old this morning: “How sleep mama?”
Me: “I slept…okay, but more importantly, I got up to another morning to see your happy face.”
Every moment is a gift. Walk in love and go in peace.

Tonight we explored classical music. It started with Dave introducing Rachel to Clair de Lune. Sammy walked in the room and said, “What’s this?” I said, “It’s Clair de Lune, by the amazing Claude Debussy.”
I raised my eyebrows.
“One day, you’re going to play this and I will just sit in the other room & smile.”
“And then I’ll say, ‘play it again, Sam.’”

After a few minutes, the boys grab the phone and devour orchestral piece after orchestral piece. Josh runs into our room and shouts, “I KNOW ALL THESE!!! THEY’RE FROM BUGS BUNNY!!!”
They were so excited as they made the connection that real people are behind the music that they had to introduce their sister to John Williams. Debussy and Williams. Mind = 🤯🤯🤯
Yesterday, both older boys were instructed to pick up the massive tidal wave of legos covering their bedroom floor. I walk up to check on their progress.
Me to Josh: “Hey Josh, I see you’re reading a book. Why are you reading a book and not picking up your legos?”
Josh: “I’m reading to Sam to help him pick up the legos faster.”
Me: “Really.”
*I can just see it in 20 years- Josh makes local interest news station for this headline: “Local entrepreneur uses newly acquired skills to create unprecedented motivation in employees, resulting in a 100% increase in productivity.*
Let’s hope it’s that and not “Local scam artist was ratted out by his own younger brother and both are now doing time in the state pen for bank fraud.”
Tonight’s dinner convo: “Tornadoes,” “Maelstroms,” “water spouts” & “rare shark spieces.”
1) Thank goodness for YouTube.
2) So. Many. Questions.
3) It’s probably no coincidence that my daily headache starts around dinner time.
Conversations with Sam: *he looks at his sister*
Sam: “Mom… someday, sis will grow up and she’ll have babies, right?
Me: “If she chooses.”
Me: “If she does have children, that would make you three ‘uncles’ amiright?”
*Sammy nods*
Me: “What would you like to be called? How about Uncle Sam?”
*at this point I had to stop & laugh on the inside because I’m the only one in on this joke*
*Sam shakes his head solemnly*
Me: “Okaaay… what do you want to be called?”
Him: “Uncle Will.”
A fitting tribute to a trailblazing uncle ❤️
