On the way to VBS this morning:
Me: “TJ, I’m so excited you get to go to VBS! You’re going to have so much fun. There will be Bible stories and games and snacks and crafts…”
TJ: *excitedly* “Oh, like MINECRAFT???”
Me: “What?”
TJ: “Minecraft! You know, where people have swords and they kill each other and stuff.”
Me: “TJ, you’ve never even PLAYED Minecraft… what are you talking about?”
TJ: *unfazed* …And people waving swords around and building stuff and cities and swords…
I guess if you think about it, the analogy isn’t too far off. Lots of people in the Bible waving swords around, building cities and uh, people dying by the sword.
