You know a book is powerful when it changes the posture of the kids when you read it. They don’t know I see, but I watch them scoot a little closer, put their head on my lap or just want to be near me when I read this book.
Sometimes, we as parents have trouble stopping and articulating our unconditional love because it *seems* like all we do is dole out consequences during the day. We can get mired in just addressing actions and forget the heart connection.
And with this one little powerful book, it helps us communicate with the heart. In this book, the little boy puts very crazy “would you love me if…” scenarios in front of his mom. The mom just rolls with the punches and tells her little boy how she would support him and love him no matter what he threw at her.
Sometimes, when we don’t have the words, books can fill in the gaps. Or help us start a powerful conversation. This is one of those books and I highly endorse it. You will giggle, you will laugh and your kids will snuggle in close.
